PREFACE

Mr. Brooks, in this compilation, has endeavored to select thoseincidents and practical remarks from Mr. Müller's Narratives, that showin an unmistakeable way, both to believers and unbelievers, the secretof believing prayer, the manifest hand of a living God, and Hisunfailing response, in His own time and way, to every petition which isaccording to His will.

The careful perusal of these extracts will thus further the great objectwhich Mr. Müller had in view, without the necessity of reading throughthe various details of his "Narratives," details which Mr. Müller feltbound to give when writing periodically the account of God's dealingswith him.
