GAUGE: 9 sts = 2 inches; 6 rows = 1 inch.

Directions are given for Small Size. Changesfor Medium and Large Sizes are given inparentheses.

BACK: Cast on 77 (81, 85) sts, work instockinette st (K 1 row, P 1 row) for 14inches (all sizes). NEXT 2 ROWS: SHAPEARMHOLES: Bind off 5 (6, 7) sts at begof each row. NEXT 3 ROWS: Dec 1 st eachend for all sizes. Work even until armholesmeasure 7½ (8, 8½) inches. SHAPESHOULDERS: Bind off 6 (6, 6) sts at begof next 4 rows, then bind off 7 (8, 9) sts atbeg of next 2 rows, bind off remaining sts,23 sts remain (all sizes) for neck.

LEFT FRONT: Cast on 23 (25, 27) sts. Workingin stockinette st inc 1 st at end of nextrow (front edge, all sizes), then inc 1 st atfront edge every row until there are 38 (40,42) sts on needle. Work even until frontmeasures same as back to underarm.SHAPE ARMHOLE: Work same as back.Work even until armhole measures 4½ (5,5½) inches ending at front edge. SHAPENECKLINE: Bind off 5 sts at beg of row,then dec 1 st at neck edge every other row6 times (all sizes). Work even until armholemeasures same as back. SHAPESHOULDERS: Work same as back.

RIGHT FRONT: Work same as Left Frontreversing all shapings.

SLEEVES: Cast on 40 (42, 44) sts, work instockinette st inc 1 st at each end every9th row until there are 58 (60, 62) sts.Work even until sleeve measures 15 inchesfrom beg or 1 inch less than desired length.NEXT 2 ROWS: Bind off 5 (6, 7) sts at begof each row, then dec 1 st at each endevery other row until 24 sts (all sizes) remain,bind off.

FINISHING: Block each section. Sew shoulder,side and sleeve seams. Sew sleeves inposition.

EDGE: Attach yarn at side seam. Work arow of s c all around Jacket working 1 s cin every other row at front edge and 1 s cin each st at lower edge and neck. 2ndROW: Skip 2 s c, 4 d c with ch 1 betweeneach d c in next 5 c, skip 2 s c, s c in nexts c, repeat from beg across lower edge andaround neck skipping only 1 s c betweenshells at front edge taking care to havesame number of shells on each front edge.3rd ROW: Sl st to ch 1 space between d c,* ch 2, sl st in next ch 1 space, repeatfrom * once, sl st in next s c, sl st to nextch 1 space, repeat from 1st * all around.Work same edge on sleeves.
