vThe poems in this volume have been collected withreference to their similarity of tone. They are variationson a single theme, more or less aptly suggested by thetitle, Low Tide on Grand Pré. It seemed better to bringtogether between the same covers only those pieces ofwork which happened to be in the same key, rather than topublish a larger book of more uncertain aim.
By Grand Pré, September, 1893.
