Fellow citizens!—I beg pardon,I mean ladiesand gentlemen!You see I've justcome from a politicalmeeting, andthat sort of thing gets on yournerves. I went to hear myfriend Isaacstein talk. Hissubject was "Why should theJew have to work?"
They did a lot of whitewashingat that meeting. Isuppose it's all right. Ofcourse you can't make a newfence with a pail of whitewash,but you can cover up the mothholes.
But we mustn't be too hard on the politicians. Ifit wasn't for politics a good many fellows that aretoo lazy to earn a living with their hands would bepaupers. But some of 'em are all right.
